DER WEINBERG & DIE BODEGA
Der Weinberg ist für die Besitzer ein wahr gewordener Traum, aber für einen von ihnen ist der Weinbau eine Familientradition. Auf einem Weinberg aufzuwachsen und seinem Großvater dabei zuzusehen, wie er die Reben Jahr für Jahr pflegt, hat ihn für den Weinbau begeistert und war die Inspiration für dieses einzigartige Projekt.
Los Dos Caballeros
Mit Hilfe eines lokalen Winzers und nach einer sorgfältigen Analyse des Bodens und der klimatischen Bedingungen wurde das Projekt geboren.
Die Eigentümer haben beschlossen, vier Rebsorten anzubauen: Sauvignon blanc, Merlot, Grenache und die mallorquinische Sorte Manto negro, aus denen sie Weiß-, Rot- und Roséweine herstellen.
Weine & Rebsorten
Der Weißwein ist ein Sauvignon Blanc, der aufgrund der Bodenbeschaffenheit trocken und dennoch fruchtig ist. Er wird vor dem Pool und dem Haupthaus gepflanzt und ist somit die Rebsorte, die von den Unterkünften aus direkt sichtbar ist.
The red grapes are grenache (garnacha), a very old and heat resistant grape varietal from Spain, which we mainly use to produce a Provence style rosé. These vines are grown in the more rocky and sandy parts of our vineyard. The second red grape is merlot, which will add body and color to our main red wine, a grenache and merlot blend. Our latest addition is a small field of Manto Negro, a local mallorcan grape, which we are going to use to produce a light and fresh red wine once the grapes are ready to be used.
The merlot grapes are located in the fields at the entrance to the winery, while the grapes for the rosé are planted on the fields to the left and right of the sauvignon blanc in front of the main house. The Manto Negro is planted right in front of the new bodega.
Nachhaltigkeit
At Los Dos Caballeros winery, we care for the environment and try to be sustainable wherever possible. We have installed a state of the art solar energy system which delivers power to the whole finca and the bodega. We remain almost completely self-sufficient by using renewable energy. We implement eco-friendly farming practices and never use harmful chemicals or pesticides. We take sustainablity all the way to our at “km 0” produced wines, using bottles made of recycled glass and lables printed on recyled paper.
Der Online Shop
All our wines are available for sale in our Online Shop. We deliver free of charge on Mallorca (orders of 2 boxes minimum). However, our wine is also available for direct sale and pick up in our Bodega and also in selected restaurants on Mallorca, Barcelona and Frankfurt/Main (Germany).
